ACCESS TO THE FILE Clause Samples

The 'Access to the File' clause defines the right of parties, typically in a legal or regulatory context, to review and obtain information contained within a specific file or dossier. In practice, this clause outlines who may access the file, under what conditions, and what types of documents or evidence are included, such as correspondence, reports, or decisions relevant to a case or proceeding. Its core function is to ensure transparency and fairness by allowing involved parties to review the materials that may affect their rights or obligations, thereby supporting informed participation and due process.

Confidential material solicited prior to January 1, 1989 shall be made available only after the identifying letterhead and any part of the material which may identify the author is removed. The ASM, or their duly authorized representative, shall be allowed to examine the ASM’s file during normal working hours in the presence of the Director of Human Resources, or their designated representative, or the Vice-President (▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Campus), or their designated representative.
