Academic Study Leave. TYPE ONE Full time and proportional ASMs, SASMs, and PASMs shall be eligible to apply for the award of up to and including 20 weeks ASL upon meeting the service requirement of five years and where the purpose of the application is for industrial and academic activities which may include research. Approval of Type 1 applications for ASL shall be undertaken by the relevant Director and relevant Head of Department.
