Vacation Leave and Termination Date. Nurses not planning to return to County employment at the expiration of a vacation leave, except those retiring, shall be compensated in a lump sum payment for accrued vacation and shall not be carried on the payroll. Retiring nurses may elect to use vacation leave to enhance retirement benefits or to be compensated in a lump sum payment for accrued vacation leave, provided that each pay period the employee charges the number of hours in their regular scheduled tour of duty.

Prior Service – Nurses in regular positions who have been employed in a public jurisdiction in a comparable position may receive credit for up to four (4) years (full time equivalent) previous experience in the former agency(s) in determining their vacation accrual rate. Such determination as to the comparability of previous experience and amount of credit to be granted rests solely with the Director of Human Resources.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.

  • Vacation Leave Accrual ‌ After a full-time employee has been in pay status for eighty (80) non-overtime hours in a calendar month, the employee will accrue vacation leave according to the rate schedule below. Vacation leave accrual for part-time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours the part-time employee is in pay status during the month to that required for full-time employment.

  • Vacation Pay Upon Termination When an employee in the bargaining unit is terminated for any reason, he/she shall be entitled to all vacation pay earned and accumulated up to and including the effective date of the termination.

  • Vacation Period ‌ The choice of vacation periods shall be granted to employees on the basis of seniority with the Employer except where the period requested would be detrimental to the operation of the Employer.

  • VACATION LEAVE WITH PAY 14.01 The vacation year shall be from April 1st of one calendar year to March 31st of the following calendar year inclusive.

  • Entitlement to Vacation Leave With Pay An employee is entitled to vacation leave with pay to the extent of his earned credits but an employee who has completed six (6) months of continuous employment may receive an advance of credits equivalent to the anticipated credits for the vacation year.
