Summer School Assignment. Work normally and customarily performed by employees, required to be performed at times other than during the regular September-June academic year or the employee’s normal work year, shall be assigned to employees in the appropriate classification(s).
Summer School Assignment. Notification shall be sent to instructors informing them of summer school or extended time dates and hours not later than May 1 of the current contract year. Notification of selection to teach summer school or extended time assignments shall be sent to instructors by June 1 of the current contract year.

Employees on professional improvement plans or rated overall as “emerging” on the summative evaluation are not eligible to apply to summer school.

Prior to the end of the spring semester, the District will give written confirmation of summer assignments to at least fifty percent (50%) of its anticipated summer school staff. Adult Education teachers will be notified in writing of their assignments prior to the beginning of the summer term.
