Examples of Severance from Service Date in a sentence

  • For purposes of counting consecutive Years of Break in Service, the first Year of Break in Service shall begin on the first day of the month immediately following the Severance from Service Date and shall end on the last day of the twelfth (12th) month following such starting day.

Severance from Service Date means the date, as recorded on the records of a Participating Company or an Affiliated Company, on which an Employee of such company quits, retires, is discharged, or dies, or, if earlier, the first anniversary of the first day of a period during which the Employee remains absent from service with all Participating Companies and Affiliated Companies (with or without pay) for any other reason, except:
Severance from Service Date means the earlier of the date of the Employee's Separation From Service, or the first anniversary of the date on which the Employee is absent from service (with or without pay) for any reason other than his Separation From Service or a Maternity or Paternity Absence, such as vacation, holiday, sickness, or leave of absence. The Severance From Service Date of an Employee who is absent beyond the first anniversary of his first day of absence by reason of a Maternity or Paternity Absence is the second anniversary of the first day of the absence.

If the Employee does not return to Employment immediately following the end of the lay-off or Leave of Absence, such Employee shall be deemed to have had a Severance from Service Date as of his first day of absence due to lay-off or Leave of Absence.
