Department of Corrections or "Department" means the principal department of state government created under Section 1 of the Corrections Code of 1953, 1953 PA 232, MCL 791.201 Section 275 of the Executive Organization Act of 1965, 1965 PA 380, MCL 16.375, and Executive Order 1991-12, MCL 791.302.
