Vacation Bids. A. Each shift, under the direction of that Battalion Chief’s Shift Representative shall coordinate that shift’s vacation leave bidding in accordance with the wishes of the Battalion Chiefs assigned to that shift. In situations where an amenable compromise cannot be reached, seniority-in-rank shall be the determining factor for who shall be awarded the time period in dispute. Employees will select vacation days by November 30th of each year and the District will post the selected vacation days by December 15th for the following calendar year.

Vacation Bids. 8.9.1 Vacation will be bid by base and in order of seniority for each classification (FA or CSM) and in accordance with Article 5.3. Each vacation slot available will indicate the number of CSMs and FAs that are able to bid for such slot. Other restrictions may be indicated for Cabin Crew holding an instructor, recruiter, language or other qualification or designations.

Vacation Bids. Vacation bidding commences promptly following the publication of the April shift bid award (i.e., no later than February 15 unless the parties agree otherwise). Vacation bids will be awarded on the basis of seniority within a specific seniority group by shift. The Company will consider an employee to be “within a specific seniority group” (1) if the employee is in the seniority group on the day the vacation bid closes; or (2) the employee has received an award under Article 10 prior to the day the vacation bid closes and will begin work in the new classification prior to the start of the vacation year. Once awarded, vacation periods may not be changed or canceled except by agreement of the Company and the employee or as provided elsewhere in this Agreement.   • Vacation Bidding 1. Vacations will be bid by shifts in a Bid Area, except that in any Bid Area having less than 50 employees, vacations shall be bid by Bid Area. When mutually agreed between the Company and the local Union Business Agent vacations may be bid by groupings other than those listed herein. Provided that the Company will not unreasonably withhold agreement to such grouping as the local Business Agent advocates. It shall not be unreasonable for the Company to withhold agreement if the proposed grouping can reasonably be expected to materially affect the operation or any portion thereof.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • Vacation Allowance Employees in permanent positions are entitled to vacation with pay. Accrual is based upon straight time hours of working time per calendar month of service and begins on the date of appointment to a permanent position. Increased accruals begin on the first of the month following the month in which the employee qualifies. Accrual for portions of a month shall be in minimum amounts of one (1) hour calculated on the same basis as for partial month compensation pursuant to Section 5.6 of this MOU. Vacation credits may be taken in one (1) minute increments but may not be taken during the first six (6) months of employment (not necessarily synonymous with probationary status) except where sick leave has been exhausted; and none shall be allowed in excess of actual accrual at the time vacation is taken.
