Training Day. The training day for all training programs, excluding shift training, shall be from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise specified. This includes one (1) hour for lunch and time for breaks as the program allows. Employees assigned to attend training programs will adopt the schedule of the program. Staying overnight at a particular location during a training program shall not give rise to the accumulation of overtime. Travel time to and from required training programs shall be considered as on-duty hours and compensated according to Ohio University policy.
Training Day. When a member is assigned to attend Division-sponsored training courses and seminars held in another city, normally, a day of training shall constitute a member’s work day, unless the member is advised in advance to return to normal duties after the training concludes. Any scheduled instruction in excess of a member’s scheduled workday will be considered overtime.
Training Day. Training days, as well as workshops, are defined as 7 Person Hours (PH) for the purposes of calculation. One training hour is 55 minutes.
Training Day. Employees covered under this Agreement who are assigned to the overnight patrol shifts, who are attending training during the day, will not be required to work the night before the training or the night shift on the day of the training. Employees shall only be paid for hours actually worked, but night-‐shift employees who elect not to work the shifts before or after a training day may opt to use comp time or vacation pay, if desired.

Training Day. Employees who are assigned to eight and one-half (8.5) hour work shifts shall be required to pay back the Village annually by working one (1) eight and one-half (8.5) hour training day, without compensation. This training day shall generally be scheduled at least thirty (30) days in advance, however this 30-day notice can be waived at the mutual agreement of the parties. Employees attending training days shall be covered under Workers Compensation.
