Retaining Wall. The owner shall provide to the Chief Building Official engineered stamped drawings of the retaining wall prior to issuance of a building permit.
Retaining Wall. This task covers the potential for investigation and retaining wall parameters for retaining walls if required for design. For the purpose of developing this contingency task, we are assuming four retaining wall locations with retaining wall heights up to eight (8) feet high. Complete six (6) borings to depths of up to 15 feet below ground surface (or refusal if encountered at a shallower depth) for use in retaining wall design. Provide recommendations for the design and construction of retaining walls up to eight (8) feet in height including foundation type, allowable bearing capacity, and lateral earth pressures.
Retaining Wall. During abandonment of said pumping and standby diesel generator, XXXXX / Xxxxxxx may request that CMSD leave in place the retaining wall surrounding said generator but remove the sides. XXXXX / Xxxxxxx will then assume ownership of the wall. Should XXXXX / Xxxxxxx not request that the wall remain, CMSD shall remove the retaining wall.
Retaining Wall a structure composed of concrete, steel or other approved building material constructed for the purpose of supporting a cut or filled embankment which would otherwise not comply with the requirements or standards set forth in this Part, and which is more than 2 feet in height as measured on the exposed vertical surface of the wall. Site–a single lot, tract or parcel of land, or a series of lots, tracts or parcels of land which are adjoining and with respect to which grading work is to be continuous and performed generally at the same time. §9-107 Borough of Carnegie §9-108 Slope–the percent of rise or descent of the land surface calculated by dividing the number of feet of vertical rise/descent in elevation by the number of feet of horizontal distance, expressed as a percentage. Slope shall be calculated between contour intervals used to prepare the existing site topographic plan but in no case shall the vertical interval exceed 2 feet. The percent of slope is determined from on- site topographic surveys prepared with a 2-foot contour interval or topography taken from controlled aerial photography at 2-foot intervals. The slope of the land shall be shown on a plan of the property based on the following six categories:
Retaining Wall. The perimeter boundary retaining walls, constructed as part of the 1960's development are retained for this building. The general principle adopted is that no additional horizontal or vertical loads have been imposed on these walls. The first structural bay of the basement slab has been replaced at the same level to maintain its propping effect at the toe of the existing walls. Backing structure to the walls has been provided as required where the original 316 lateral support system has been changed. A new retaining wall has been provided along the south side of the site.
Retaining Wall. The concrete masonry unit retaining wall located at the east end of Buckingham Drive has started to fail. The wall has started to rotate. Continued wall movement is highly probable. Remove existing wall system and install a new designed concrete masonry unit retaining wall system. Grind Down Sidewalk Tripping Hazard Edges Several of the Facility’s concrete sidewalk sections have settled or heaved over the years - causing tripping hazards. While the sidewalk fields have not spalled or cracked, we recommend grinding down the trip edges only. Replace Concrete Sidewalk Sections Sidewalk sections are severely cracked and deteriorated. Such condition were noted at the front entrance sidewalks. Remove deteriorated sections, prepare bed, and install new 4" thick sidewalks. Sidewalk sections that exhibit cracks but that do not warrant replacement should have all cracks pointed with a non-shrinking grout.
Retaining Wall. The Contractor shall remove a portion of the existing retaining wall and relocate the retaining wall concrete blocks along the property line as per the engineering drawing. The Contractor shall supply and compact a 300 mm thick granular “A” wall bedding that expands 0.3 m wider from each side of the wall. The remaining retaining wall blocks shall be removed and hauled to the municipal garage located in Xxxxxxxx Creek. The Contractor shall provide a new 150 mm dia. subdrain along the bedding of the wall and backfill with porous (sand or granular) material for a length of 0.5 m to provide adequate drainage. The Granular bedding and porous backfill shall be wrapped in a filter fabric. The contractor shall backfill the retaining wall, grade as per the engineering drawings and provide 100 mm thick top soil and sod the disturbed area. The retaining wall shall be built as per the engineering drawing and respect the proposed elevation. The height of the retaining wall shall not be greater than 1.0m measured from top of wall to finish grade at bottom of wall.
Retaining Wall. Widening of Campus Drive will impact the airport property. To minimize the property impacts, a retaining wall at the edge of parkway will be proposed. Aesthetic treatment of the face of the wall, including wall material type selection, will be included in the design details and coordinated with A-E landscaping design. Structural calculations will be prepared for review and approval with the preparation of the structural details and PS&E documents. Retaining Wall. The design, location, and aesthetics of the retaining wall and fence along the project and the Yacht Club’s common property line shall be agreed by the Yacht Club and the Developer working together in good faith. Provided Developer gets all agency permits, Developer will pay for or reimburse the cost of the retaining wall and fence which shall be built, at a minimum, to the standards in accordance with the Yacht Club’s Conditional Use Permit for West Lot. If no agreement is reached regarding the aesthetics/design/location of the fence and/or retaining wall, the Developer shall honor all provisions of the BCARD settlement agreement regarding the fence and wall.
Retaining Wall. The retaining wall structure shall be constructed to lines and grades determined by the plans as required in Sections A.8. and A.23 of the Contract. Backfill will be provided by the Authorized User or bid item “Select Granular Backfill”. The item “Select Granular Backfill” cost shall only include the cost of the material and transport to the project location, all other costs in handling, placing, grading, and compacting is to be included in other bid items. It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility to select, place, and compact the material in accordance with the design of the retaining wall structure. All combinations of backfill and geosynthetic reinforcement materials shall be based on the plans developed as outlined in section A.8. All geosynthetic reinforcement materials shall be on the TDOT Qualified Products List 36 at the time of installation.
