As a voluntary retirement benefit for Employees who qualify as provided above, the Board agrees to increase the Employee’s TRS creditable earnings by 6% over the Employee’s prior year’s reported TRS creditable earnings for each remaining year of the Employee’s employment in the District.
The Employee will receive his/her normal step increase and then will be paid an additional amount equal to the difference between the step increase and 6% but under no circumstance will the Employee’s total TRS creditable earnings exceed 6%.
Should any of the above be declared improper by an IRS, TRS, Illinois School Code ruling or opinion, that clause or portion thereof shall be deleted from this Agreement to the extent that it violates the ruling or opinion.
