Standard Television definition

Standard Television means television distribution by a UHF or VHF television broadcast station or by unencrypted digital transmission, the video and audio portions of which are intelligibly receivable without charge by means of standard roof top or television set built-in antennas; provided, for purposes of this Agreement the broadcast like those in England by the BBC in which a license fee, tax or similar charge is made for use of a television shall be considered Standard Television. Without limiting the foregoing, Standard Television shall include conventional, over-the-air television as well as the collection of retransmission copyright royalties related thereto.
Standard Television means a programme service broadcast over analogue terrestrial transmitters, together with a simulcast, if required, by means of satellite and/or microwave and/or digital terrestrial technology whether analogue or digital, for reception on a television receiver in the home without a charge being made to the viewer for the privilege of viewing such programme or the service on which the programme is broadcast or simulcast, or for which only a nominal governmental tax is levied; for the avoidance of doubt, any form of primary transmission or broadcast by means of satellite and/or microwave and/or digital terrestrial technology, whether analogue or digital, other than as a simulcast, would constitute Non-Standard Television and is thereby excluded from Standard Television;
Standard Television means non-pay, UHF or VHF broadcast television in the United States or Canada transmitted by means of a broadcast station licensed by the appropriate governmental body intended for intelligible reception by the general public by means of standard home antennas.

Standard Television means television broadcast whether by analogue or digital means for reception without charge (ignoring for this purpose any sums payable for a licence of a kind required by law for the installation and/or use of equipment for the reception of broadcast programmes) by means of conventional home roof-top or television set built-in or attached antennae other than (for avoidance of doubt) the public service uses set out in Clause 2.1 to 2.2 below.

All rights not expressly granted herein shall remain the sole and exclusive right of Licensor for Licensor’s unlimited, unencumbered use.
