Small Business or Small Business Concern definition

Small Business or Small Business Concern means a small business concern or company as defined in Section 3 of the Small Business Act and SBA regulations implementing it (13 CFR Part 121); and is a business that does not exceed the cap on annual average gross receipts established by the U.S. Secretary of Transportation pursuant to 49 CFR Part 26.65; see also 49 CFR Part 26.39.

  • Small business concern means a concern, including its affiliates, that is independently owned and operated, not dominant in the field of operation in which it is bidding on Government contracts, and qualified as a small business under the criteria in 13 CFR Part 121 and size standards in this solicitation.

For the purpose of this clause, the size standards for small business concerns involved in government procurement and subcontracting at 13 CFR 121.3-8 and 13 CFR 121.3-12, respectively, will be used.

  • Small Business Act means the Small Business Act (15 U.S. Code Chapter 14A – Aid to Small Business).

  • Eligible small business means a business entity that, at the time

  • Qualified small business means an entity, whether organized as a corporation, partnership, or proprietorship, organized for profit with its principal place of business located within this state and which meets the following criteria:

  • Emerging small business means a small business concern whose size is no greater than 50 percent of the numerical size standard for the NAICS code designated.

  • Small Diversity business concern means a small business concern that is at least fifty-one (51) percent unconditionally owned by one or more individuals who are both socially and economically diverse, or a publicly owned business that has at least fifty-one (51) percent of its stock unconditionally owned by one or more socially and economically diverse individuals and that has its management and daily business controlled by one or more such individuals. This term also means a small business concern that is at least fifty-one (51) percent unconditionally owned by an economically diverse Indian tribe or Native Hawaiian Organization, or a publicly owned business that has at least fifty-one (51) percent of its stock unconditionally owned by one of these entities, that has its management and daily business controlled by members of an economically diverse Indian tribe or Native Hawaiian organization.

  • Small Business Enterprise (SBE) means a business that is certified as an SBE under this program or the following similar programs and meeting the below economic thresholds (Section III “Economic Size Standards”).

  • Small Business Enterprise means, as MCC 2-92-670 may be updated from time to time, a small business as defined by the U.S. Small Business Administration, pursuant to the business size standards found in 13 C.F.R. Part 121, relevant to the scope(s) of work the firm seeks to perform on city contracts. A firm is not an eligible small business enterprise in any city fiscal year in which its gross receipts, averaged over the firm's previous five fiscal years, exceed the size standards of 13 C.F.R. Part 121.

  • Business concern means any corporation, company, limited liability company, partnership, joint venture, trust, unincorporated association or any other form of association.

  • Veteran-owned Small Business Enterprise (VSBE) means A business that is verified by the Center for Verification and Evaluation (CVE) of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs as a veteran-owned small business. See Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 21.11.13.

  • Small disadvantaged business concern means a small business concern that represents, as part of its offer that—

  • Small farmer means a cultivator with an un-irrigated land holding up to two hectares or with an irrigated land holding up to one hectare, but more than the holding of a marginal farmer.

  • Small brewer means a brewer who manufactures less than 60,000 barrels of beer, heavy beer, and flavored malt beverages per year.

  • Affidavit of Small Business Enterprise Certification means the fully completed, signed, and notarized affidavit that must be submitted with an application for SBE certification. Representations and certifications made by the applicant in this Affidavit are made under penalty of perjury and will be used and relied upon by City to verify SBE eligibility and compliance with SBE certification and documentation requirements.

  • Women-owned business concern means a concern which is at least 51 percent owned by one or more women; or in the case of any publicly owned business, at least 51 percent of its stock is owned by one or more women; and whose management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more women.

  • Sexual Exploitation and Abuse “(SEA)” means the following:

  • Qualified veteran means a person who meets the following requirements:

  • Business concern or business means a business that has annual gross sales of less than $75,000,000 as evidenced by the federal income tax return of the business. A firm with gross sales in excess of this cap may apply to the Council for certification for a particular contract if the firm can demonstrate that the contract would have significant impact on businesses owned by minorities, women, or persons with disabilities as suppliers or subcontractors or in employment of minorities, women, or persons with disabilities.

  • Small group market means the health insurance market under which individuals obtain health

  • Small cell facility means a wireless facility that meets both of the following qualifications: (i) each antenna is located inside an enclosure of no more than six cubic feet in volume, or, in the case of an antenna that has exposed elements, the antenna and all of its exposed elements could fit within an imaginary enclosure of no more than six cubic feet and (ii) all other wireless equipment associated with the facility has a cumulative volume of no more than 28 cubic feet, or such higher limit as is established by the Federal Communications Commission. The following types of associated equipment are not included in the calculation of equipment volume: electric meter, concealment, telecommunications demarcation boxes, back-up power systems, grounding equipment, power transfer switches, cut-off switches, and vertical cable runs for the connection of power and other services.

  • Embryo/fetus means the developing human organism from conception until the time of birth.
