Lateral transfer definition

Lateral transfer or "transfer" - refers to the movement of an employee from one position to another which does not constitute a demotion or promotion;
Lateral transfer means the reassignment of an employee to another state job with the same pay band assignment as the job family level in which the employee was classified prior to the lateral transfer [74:840 1.3].
Lateral transfer is defined as an employee-requested movement to a posted vacancy within the same agency which is in the same pay range as the classification the employee currently holds.
