Hot Tap definition

Hot Tap means a hole cut into Regional’s active utility main.
Hot Tap means drilling into a pipe that is live (currently providing water) as a means of temporarily providing water, so service is not interrupted when connecting new lines to existing lines.
Hot Tap means a procedure used in the repair, maintenance, and service activities that involves welding on a piece of equipment (pipelines, vessels, or tanks) under pressure, in order to install connections or appurtenances.
