Foreign Investment definition

Foreign Investment means any investment made by a person resident outside India on a repatriable basis in capital instruments of an Indian company or to the capital of an LLP;
Foreign Investment means any (a) Investment by a Credit Party in a Foreign Subsidiary, (b) purchase by a Credit Party of assets located outside of the United States (including the purchase of Capital Stock of a Person not domiciled in the United States), (c) issuance of a Letter of Credit under this Agreement for the benefit of a Foreign Subsidiary or (d) incurrence of a Guarantee Obligation by a Credit Party for the direct or indirect benefit of any Foreign Subsidiary.
Foreign Investment means any direct investment made by a foreign investor within the Union.

  • The Depositary shall not incur any liability for any tax consequences that may be incurred by Holders and Beneficial Owners on account of their ownership of the ADSs, including without limitation, tax consequences resulting from the Company (or any of its subsidiaries) being treated as a “Passive Foreign Investment Company” (in each case as defined in the U.S. Internal Revenue Code and the regulations issued thereunder) or otherwise.

  • Such provision has also been included in the Foreign Investment Law of the PRC (中華人民共和國外商投資法), promulgated by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the PRC on 15 March 2019 and became effective on 1 January 2020.

  • On 8 August 2017, the State Council promulgated the Notice on Several Measures for Promoting the Growth of Foreign Investment (國務院關於促進外資增長若干措施的通知), which provided that foreign investors may freely remit abroad the profits, dividends and other investment returns lawfully obtained inside PRC in Renminbi or foreign currencies.
