Extended Disability Leave definition

Extended Disability Leave. A nurse who has exhausted all of his/her sick leave, vacation leave, and any other accrued leave due to illness or other type of medical disability may be granted up to six (6) months of Extended Disability Leave at the discretion of the District.

Examples of Extended Disability Leave in a sentence

  • Reimbursement will be made for University contribution amounts upon approval for Extended Disability Leave.

  • Authorization to pay Extended Disability Leave benefits will be made by the Benefits office.

  • A lack of conclusive medical evidence may delay approval of the Extended Disability Leave benefit, until Long-Term Disability benefits are approved.

  • If the employee is still disabled at the conclusion of all available paid disability leave(s) and is unable to return to work, Article 12, Section 2, Extended Disability Leave, shall apply.

  • A faculty member who is on an Extended Disability Leave (greater than five days) on her/his anniversary date will not be credited with a new sick time allocation.

  • Unit members on Extended Disability Leave will furnish a release from a licensed health care practitioner before being allowed to return to work.

  • Upon exhaustion of all accumulated sick leave, a unit member who would otherwise qualify for sick leave under the provisions of this Article will receive up to one hundred (100) days of Extended Disability Leave.

  • A unit member on Extended Disability Leave will be paid their regular daily rate of pay minus the Board of Education adopted rate of pay for a substitute per day but no less than fifty percent (50%) of the unit member’s regular daily rate of pay.

  • Employee agrees to repay the University all Extended Disability Leave benefits paid if Employee does not receive Long-Term Disability benefits.

Related to Extended Disability Leave

  • Disability/Disabled means because of Injury or Sickness you are unable to perform the material duties of your Regular Occupation, or are receiving disability benefits under the Employer's plan, during the initial 9 months of Disability. Thereafter, you must be unable to perform all of the material duties of any occupation which you may reasonably become qualified based on education, training or experience, or are subject to the terms of a Rehabilitation Plan approved by the Insurance Company.

  • Permanent Disability means the Employee’s inability to perform the essential functions of the Employee’s position, with or without reasonable accommodation, for a period of at least 120 consecutive days because of a physical or mental impairment.

  • Pregnancy disability means a pregnancy-related medical condition or miscarriage.

  • Total Disability means a “permanent and total disability” within the meaning of Section 22(e)(3) of the Code and such other disabilities, infirmities, afflictions or conditions as the Committee by rule may include.

  • Disability or Disabled means that during the Elimination Period and your Own Occupation Period you are, as a result of Physical Disease, Injury, Mental Disorder, Substance Abuse or Pregnancy, unable to perform one or more of the Material Duties of your Own Occupation, and, due to such inability, your Work Earnings are less than 80% of your Indexed Predisability Earnings, and you are incapable of earning 80% or more of your Indexed Predisability Earnings.   • Recurrent Disability means a Disability caused by an Injury or Sickness that is the same as, or related to, the cause of a prior Disability for which Monthly Benefits were payable. A Recurrent Disability will be treated as follows.

  • Multiple disabilities means concomitant impairments, the combination of which causes such severe educational problems that programs designed for the separate disabling conditions will not meet the student’s educational needs.

  • Qualified disability expenses means that term as defined in section 529A of the internal revenue code.

  • Child with a disability means a child who, by reason of any of the following, needs special education and related services:

  • Temporary disability means wage loss replacement for the primary job;

  • Disability Effective Date means the date on which termination of employment becomes effective due to Disability.

  • Complete Disability as used herein shall mean the inability of Employee, due to illness, accident, or other physical or mental incapacity, to perform the services required under the Agreement for an aggregate of ninety (90) days within any period of 180 consecutive days during the term hereof; provided, however, that disability shall not constitute a basis for discharge for cause;
