energy storage definition

energy storage means, in the electricity system, deferring the final use of electricity to a moment later than when it was generated, or the conversion of electrical energy into a form of energy which can be stored, the storing of such energy, and the subsequent reconversion of such energy into electrical energy or use as another energy carrier;
energy storage means, in the electricity system, deferring an amount of the electricity that was generated to the moment of use, either as final energy or converted into another energy carrier.
energy storage means energy storage as defined in point (59) of Article 2 of Directive (EU) 2019/944;

Examples of energy storage in a sentence

  • This excludes circumstances when the Energy Storage Resource is not dispatched to inject electricity to the Transmission System and/or dispatched to receive electricity from the Transmission System.

  • Generation Interconnection Customer’s Energy Storage Resource is not required to change from charging to discharging, or vice versa, unless the response necessitated by the droop and deadband settings requires it to do so and it is technically capable of making such a transition.

  • Generation Interconnection Customer interconnecting an Energy Storage Resource shall establish an operating range in Schedule I of this ISA that specifies a minimum state of charge and a maximum state of charge between which the Energy Storage Resource will be required to provide primary frequency response consistent with the conditions set forth in sections 4.7.2, 4.7.2.1, 4.7.2.2, and 4.7.2.3 of this agreement.

  • Generation Interconnection Customer’s Energy Storage Resource is required to provide timely and sustained primary frequency response consistent with section 4.7.2.2 of this agreement when it is online and dispatched to inject electricity to the Transmission System and/or receive electricity from the Transmission System.

  • If Generation Interconnection Customer’s Energy Storage Resource is charging at the time of a frequency deviation outside of its deadband parameter, it is to increase (for over-frequency deviations) or decrease (for under-frequency deviations) the rate at which it is charging in accordance with its droop parameter.

More Definitions of energy storage

energy storage means a system that uses mechanical, chemical, or thermal processes to store energy for later use.
energy storage means, in the electricity system, [] the conversion of an amount of the electricity that was generated [] into a form of energy which can be stored, the storing of that energy, and the subsequent direct use or reconversion of that energy back into electrical energy or into another energy carrier and use of that reconverted energy at a later moment than it was generated;
energy storage means batteries, flywheels, compressed air energy systems, sensible heat storage or any other technology, system, or device capable of taking electricity and storing it as some form of energy the technology, system, or device can either convert back into electricity or use to displace an electrical load at a later time. Such term shall include standalone technologies, systems, and devices, as well as those co- located with or incorporated into a renewable energy source.
energy storage means any resource located in the Microgrid that is capable of receiving electric energy from the Electric Power Grid or any other generation resource, for later injection of electricity back to the Electric Power Grid or to serve any load.
energy storage means, in the electricity system, the conversion of electrical energy into a form of energy which can be stored, the storing of that energy, and the subsequent reconversion of that energy back into electrical energy or another energy carrier.
energy storage means, energy storage in the electricity system, as defined in Article 2, point 59, of Directive (EU) 2019/944;
energy storage means equipment used for the storage of electrical energy;
