Eligible Community Service Activity definition

Eligible Community Service Activity means: Voluntary emergency management activity; Donating blood or plasma to approved donor centres; Participating in sporting or cultural events if the Employee is a State or Commonwealth participant or official; or An appropriate activity prescribed by legislation, or agreed to by the Director.
Eligible Community Service Activity means: • Jury Service (including attendance for the purpose of jury selection) that is required by or under a law of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory; or • carrying out a voluntary emergency management activity, community service activities such as Fire Service, State Emergency Services or Defence as prescribed in the community service leave clause of this Agreement.
Eligible Community Service Activity means Jury Service required by Western Australian or Commonwealth law, a voluntary emergency management activity and an activity prescribed under the Fair Work Regulations 2009.

Examples of Eligible Community Service Activity in a sentence

  • A Staff Member who engages in an Eligible Community Service Activity is entitled to leave on Full Pay for a reasonable period consisting of one or more of the following: time when the Staff Member engages in the activity; travelling time associated with the activity; rest time immediately following the activity.

More Definitions of Eligible Community Service Activity

Eligible Community Service Activity means Jury Service (including attendance for the purpose of jury selection) that is required by or under a law of the Commonwealth or of a State or Territory; or carrying out a voluntary emergency management activity. FWC means Fair Work Commission or any successor. Kinship relation an individual to whom an Employee can demonstrate a similar moral duty as with immediate family, specifically aboriginal kinship relationships and the customs and traditions of the Employee's family group.
Eligible Community Service Activity has the meaning given by section 109 of the Fair Work Act 2009. Miscellaneous leave without pay Miscellaneous leave without pay may be granted by the CEO in accordance with the Geoscience Australia Miscellaneous Leave Policy and in the following (non-exhaustive) circumstances: full-time study commitments; employee accompanying a spouse on a posting; non-APS employment or work in the interests of the Commonwealth; or for other purposes where other types of paid leave have been exhausted or miscellaneous leave with pay has not been granted. Where miscellaneous leave without pay is denied in respect of clause 4.14, the Nominated Manager will provide reasons in writing on request, explaining the decision within five working days. Except for miscellaneous leave without pay taken for full-time study commitments of approved students, which will count for long service leave purposes, all other miscellaneous leave without pay will not count for service, but will not break continuity of service.
