Eligibility Year definition

Eligibility Year. (s) of Service" shall mean the twelve (12) consecutive month period commencing on an Employee's Employment Commencement Date and anniversaries thereof, during which the Employee completed at least one thousand (1,000) Hours of Service (or such lesser number of Hours of Service specified in the Adoption Agreement). In the case of a Participant who does not have any nonforfeitable right to the Accrued Benefit derived from Employer contributions, Eligibility Years of Service before a period of consecutive one (1) year Service Breaks will not be taken into account in computing Eligibility Years of Service if the number of consecutive one (1) year Service Breaks in such period equals or exceed the greater of five (5) or the aggregate number of eligibility Years of Service. Such aggregate number or Eligibility Years of Service will not include any Eligibility Year of Service disregarded under the preceding sentence by reason of prior Service Breaks. Notwithstanding the above, if the Adoption Agreement provides for full and immediate vesting upon completion of the eligibility requirements and an Employee has incurred a one (1) year Service Break before satisfying the Plan's eligibility requirements, all Eligibility Year(s) of Service before such Service Break will not be taken into account. If the elapsed time method of crediting service is specified in the Adoption Agreement, an Employee shall receive credit for service, except for credit which may be disregarded under this Section or Section 2.3, for the aggregate of all time periods commencing on his Employment Commencement Date or Re-Employment Commencement Date and ending on his Severance from Service Date. An Employee shall also receive credit for any Period of Severance of less than twelve (12) months. Fractional periods of a year shall be expressed in terms of days.

Examples of Eligibility Year in a sentence

  • If your employment is transferred to an Employer from an affiliate (e.g., Aria Health or Abington Hospital), your prior service with the affiliate will be counted for purposes of determining whether you have an Eligibility Year, but you will not be eligible to participate in the Plan before the date of the transfer.

  • If you have prior service with Jefferson University Physicians, you will receive credit for any Eligibility Year completed with Jefferson University Physicians prior to the transfer of employment, and you will also receive credit for prior Hours of Service completed with Jefferson University Physicians as determined in accordance with the Plan’s administrative procedures.

  • They can calculate the depth of testing needed for a particular file based on its risk information and make sure that it is achieved by suitable and sufficient test cases.

  • If you are a newly hired eligible employee who has not previously participated in Employer contributions under the Plan or under a Predecessor Plan, you will become eligible for Employer biweekly contributions on the first day of the payroll period coincident with or next following the latest of (i) January 1, 2016, (ii) the date you reach age 21, or (iii) the date you complete your first Eligibility Year.

  • B.5 Eligibility Year For purposes of determining eligibility for a leave, the College hereby adopts a rolling 12 month period whereby each time an employee takes family or medical leave, the remaining leave entitlement will be any balance of the 12 weeks which has not been used during the immediately preceding 12 months.


More Definitions of Eligibility Year

Eligibility Year means a credit awarded as follows, subject to Article VI:
Eligibility Year means 365 days of Eligibility Service (whether or not continuous).
