Brown Grease definition

Brown Grease means an emulsion of fat, oil, grease, solids, and water separated from wastewater in a grease interceptor (grease trap) and collected for use as a fuel feedstock. Brown grease must be reported under an applicable used cooking oil (UCO) pathway, i.e., reported as “unprocessed UCO” only if evidence is provided to the verifier or CARB to confirm that it has not been processed prior to receipt by the fuel production facility.
