Broader Public Sector or “BPS” means:

  • Where an employee is being seconded from the Employer to a position involving the Health Sector of the Broader Public Sector, the terms and conditions of the secondment agreement will be established by agreement of the Employer and the Union.

  • A nurse who is seconded to a bipartite or tripartite committee/position involving the Health Sector or the Broader Public Sector shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period of up to five years.

Without excluding any public bodies (whether on the basis of funding or otherwise), and solely by way of example, Broader Public Sector includes municipalities, municipal organizations, transit agencies in Ontario, school boards and publicly-funded academic, health, and social service entities;
