Agency Securities definition

Agency Securities means negotiable debt obligations which are fully guaranteed as to both principal and interest by the Federal National Mortgage Association, the Government National Mortgage Corporation or the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation and which have been assigned a short term credit rating of A-1+ by S&P, but exclude: (i) interest only and principal only securities; and (ii) collateralized mortgage obligations, real estate mortgage investment conduits and similar derivative securities.
Agency Securities means securities issued or guaranteed by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae; interests in or obligations backed by pools of fixed rate, hybrid adjustable rate and adjustable rate mortgage loans.
