In accordance with the National Aeronautics and Space Act (51 U.S.C. § 20113(e)), this Agreement is entered into by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration Ames Research Center, located at Moffett Field, CA 94035 (hereinafter referred to as "NASA" or "NASA ARC") and San Jose State University Research Foundation, located at 210 North 4th St., San Jose, CA 95112 (hereinafter referred to as "Partner," "San Jose State," or "SJSU"). NASA and Partner may be individually referred to as a "Party" and collectively referred to as the "Parties."

This Umbrella Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement" or "Umbrella Agreement") shall be for the purpose of advancing the state of the art for stitched composite structures. NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) and the Mississippi State University (MSU) will partner to conduct developmental research. Applications will primarily focus on stitched/resin-infused (SRI) composites for various material systems. Research areas include, but are not limited to, aspects related to the stitching processes for various threads and materials, resin infusion processes, stitching and resin infusion tool development, material characterization of composites utilizing new fibers, new fiber forms, and new matrix systems. At the higher structural level, research will be directed towards design, analysis and testing of sub-component and component-level structures to demonstrate stitched composite performance and predictive capabilities.

ESTCP provides educator professional development through a series of online, university level NASA themed STEM education courses that allow in-service teachers to earn a NASA STEM education leadership certificate from Teachers College, Columbia University. NASA subject matter experts are live, interactive guests for ESTCP courses. NASA education specialists consult with US Satellite Laboratory and help ensure the online courses remain current and align with NASA mission priorities.
