STRIKES AND SANCTIONS. 19.1 The Association and the Board subscribe to the principle that differences shall be resolved by peaceful and appropriate means without interruption of the school program. The Association, therefore, agrees that it will not sponsor nor support any strike, sanction, work stoppage, or other concerted refusal to perform work by the teachers covered by this Agreement, nor any instigation thereof, during the life of this Agreement, nor shall the Board engage in any form of lockout against teachers.

During the term of this Agreement neither the Association nor any persons acting in its behalf will cause, authorize or support, nor will any members take part in any strike (i.e., the concerted failure to report for duty, or willful absence of a teacher from his/her position or stoppage of work or abstinence, in whole or in part, from the full, faithful and proper performance of the teacher's duties of employment) for any purpose whatsoever.

Additionally, the District agrees not to lock out members of the bargaining unit during the term of this Agreement.

The Association therefore agrees that it will not instigate, cause, authorize or support any strike, work stoppage, sanction "work to rule", "contract stacking", or other concerted refusal to perform work by the Association.
STRIKES AND SANCTIONS. A. The Association, its officers, agents, and members will not cause, sponsor, encourage or engage in any strikes, slowdowns, sanctions, professional alerts (so-called), or any other activity that might interfere with the normal operation of schools by the Board, and will not cause, sponsor, encourage, or request the imposition by others of sanctions, professional alerts (so-called), or any other activities that might interfere with the normal operation of schools by the Board. If sanctions, professional alerts, or any other activities that might interfere with the normal operation of schools are imposed by other parties, the Association will promptly and publicly request such other parties to cease such conduct immediately. There shall be no lockouts for the duration of this Agreement.
