SALARY DEDUCTIONS FOR ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. When an academic employee whose compensation is based upon the regular academic employee salary schedule is absent for reasons which do not justify the use of any of the forms of authorized leave with pay, a fraction of the employee’s annual salary will be deducted. The fraction will be the number of days absent divided by the number of days in the teaching year.

SALARY DEDUCTIONS FOR ABSENCE WITHOUT PAY. When an academic employee whose compensation is based upon the regular academic employee salary schedule is absent for reasons which do not justify the use of any of the forms of authorized leave with pay, a fraction of the employee’s annual salary will be deducted. The fraction will be the number of days absent divided by the number of days in the teaching year. When a deduction for a partial day of absence becomes necessary, the fraction of a day absent will be computed by dividing the number of hours of absence by the total number of hours the employee is scheduled to be on campus on that day, including office hours.
