Performance Concerns. 1. If the performance of an Associate Faculty member does not meet expectations as evidenced by student assessment results, administrative observation, or reports from Tenured Faculty, additional student assessments or administrative observations will be conducted at the discretion of the appropriate administrator.

The Association recognizes that abuses of temporary leave or other leaves, chronic tardiness or absence, willful deficiencies in professional performance, or other violation of discipline by a teacher reflect adversely upon the other teachers, and/or the teaching profession, and create undesirable conditions in the school building. Such abuse may be brought to the attention of the Association Building Representative. If the abuse is continued, the teacher shall be subject to appropriate discipline.

Performance Concerns. 41 At any time during the school/work year, if an administrator/supervisor is concerned that an 42 employee’s work performance needs improvement, the administrator/supervisor will discuss the 43 performance concerns with the employee and state the performance expectations. The expectations for 44 improvement may continue into the next school year. The performance concerns will be discussed 45 privately with the administrator/supervisor. Performance concerns cannot be used to mark an employee 46 unsatisfactory if these performance concerns were not discussed with the employee and communicated 47 in writing.

Each employee shall be evaluated once each school year, and anytime an employee’s performance is considered less than satisfactory, which would require the employee to be placed on an improvement plan during the school year. The employee will be notified of the deficiency in advance of being placed on an improvement plan during the school year.
