Inclement Weather/Emergency Closure. Teachers shall not be required to work when school(s) are closed to students because of inclement weather, district-wide emergencies, or other catastrophic events and pay will not be reduced. However, the District reserves the right to reschedule any or all lost days/time, after consultation with the Association, at no additional pay to the teaching staff. Rescheduled day(s) shall be the same type as days lost (student contact days, workdays, or staff development days) unless otherwise agreed in writing by the parties.
Inclement Weather/Emergency Closure. 13.1 If the employee chooses not to report for work because of heightened risk to personal safety due to inclement weather when the College is open, the employee will use appropriate makeup time, which shall consist of accrued compensation time, vacation, personal leave, or absence without pay.
Inclement Weather/Emergency Closure. The District maintains the ability to close school(s) for emergency reasons. On regularly scheduled contract days when the district is closed due to inclement weather or emergency closures, all staff are not required to report unless directed by the Superintendent. Such time not worked due to emergency closure will be without loss of pay. Any member required to report to work during the closure by the Superintendent shall be compensated at the rate of time and a half for all hours actually worked during that shift. In the event that the closure(s) causes the district to fall below state minimum instructional standards, the district may, at its discretion require that the same amount of time lost be made up at some later point in the school year. When the parties mutually agree that an emergency situation, arising from inclement weather and/or other unsafe circumstances, does not allow for safe travel, bargaining unit members will not be expected to report for duty and shall have the choice of utilizing retroactively applied Personal Leave pursuant to Article 18.F or Short Term Unpaid Leave of Absence pursuant to Article 18.G.

  • Emergency Closures A. The University’s inability to make a Room available to me for any reason beyond the University’s control including, but not limited to, natural disaster, fire, flood, earthquake, condemnation, pandemic, quarantine, utility malfunction, infestation, or other emergency or force majeure event shall not constitute a breach of this Agreement by the University. In such circumstances, the University shall have no liability to me in any way for injuries, reimbursement, damages, inconvenience, annoyance or compensation of any kind. The University may attempt to find, but cannot guarantee, an alternative space for me. If the unavailability of my Room or an alternative space persists for more than 72 hours, I may terminate this Agreement and Check out during said unavailability without penalty provided that I shall be responsible for all financial obligations incurred up to the date of such termination. The University agrees to provide me with a pro rata refund, calculated from the date of such termination to the end of the Agreement Period, of any prepaid housing and dining payment made to the University, and to return my Deposit pursuant to this Agreement. Upon resumption of standard operations, Agreement Termination requirements and charges will apply as described in Section XIV.

  • Inclement Weather 24.1 This Inclement Weather clause sets out the full rights, obligations and entitlements of the parties and establishes the conditions under which payment for periods of inclement weather shall be made.

  • Inclement Weather Days Employees shall not report to work when schools are closed for inclement weather. In an emergency situation (e.g. Board packet day) when an inclement weather closing occurs, an employee(s) may be called in to work if there is a supervisor present in the work location.   • Severe Weather An employee who is late for a scheduled shift during a severe weather day will be offered the opportunity to work his/her full regular schedule of hours if work is needed, without suffering any pay deductions taken from such employee’s regular scheduled work day providing such employee completes his/her shift. Severe weather days are days when weather hampers mass transit (e.g. buses and ferries) from transporting travelers to their destinations. If weather conditions are such that driving to work would be hazardous, roads are closed, or travel to work would result in extreme hardship, an employee may use his/her PTO time if unable to report for work. EIB is not available for severe weather days. Employees are required to provide notification as soon as practicable if they are going to be late or unable to report for work.

  • Emergency Childcare Employees may use vacation leave for childcare emergencies after the employee has exhausted all of their accrued compensatory time. Use of vacation leave and sick leave for emergency childcare is limited to a combined maximum of four (4) days per calendar year.

  • Emergency Calls IP Phones need an additional power supply to operate. In the event of a power failure it is your responsibility to ensure you have the means to make emergency calls. In accordance with paragraph 13.2, we will not be liable for any loss or damage (financial or otherwise) where you fail to do so.

  • Emergency Closings In the event of a student day or teacher duty day lost for an emergency, the teacher shall perform duties another day in lieu thereof as the school board or its designated representative shall determine, if any.

  • Weather 6.1 No extension of time shall be granted for delays resulting from normal weather conditions prevailing in the area as defined by the average of the last ten years of weather data as recorded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration at the Fort Lauderdale Weather Station.

  • Emergency Closing 1. Management shall decide when, if, and to what extent State facilities shall remain open or closed during emergencies, such as adverse weather conditions, acts of God, equipment breakdown, inoperable bathroom facilities, extreme office temperatures, etc.
