EMPLOYMENT OF RETIRED TEACHERS. In the event the Board employs a retired teacher (as used herein, “retired teacher”) for a regular teaching position, the following shall apply:

EMPLOYMENT OF RETIRED TEACHERS. A. For purposes of salary schedule placement, a retired Teacher will be granted a maximum of ten (10) years’ service credit and their educational attainment. A retired Teacher may not advance beyond Level 10 on the salary schedule.

EMPLOYMENT OF RETIRED TEACHERS. 1. For purposes of salary schedule placement upon initial employment, a previously retired teacher ("PRT") will be granted a minimum of five (5) and a maximum of ten (10) years’ service credit, at the discretion of the Board. (A PRT with less than five years of credited teaching experience will be initially placed at their appropriate experience step on the salary schedule). The PRT will be placed on the appropriate education column of the salary schedule. A PRT may advance up to but not beyond Step 10 on the salary schedule.
EMPLOYMENT OF RETIRED TEACHERS. A. It is understood that if the Board desires to hire retired teachers, that such employees be employed under terms and conditions which differ in some respects from those established by the negotiated Agreement for teachers who have not attained retirement status with the State Teachers Retirement System. A retired teacher is a teacher who has attained service retirement status with the State Teachers Retirement System and is otherwise qualified by certification and background for public school teaching in Ohio.
