Department Meetings. Meetings shall be held no less than once per term during the academic year. Special department meetings may be called by the Department Chair and must be called upon the request of one-fourth (1/4) or more of the full-time faculty members in the department. In matters exclusively affecting graduate programs, voting will be restricted to members of the graduate faculty. Through department meetings and memoranda, the Department Chair shall attempt to keep the department faculty informed of University developments that are relevant to the department.
Department Meetings. One period every six school weeks shall be allowed for departmental meetings during the school day, provided that this does not necessitate the dismissal of students or cancellation of classes.
Department Meetings. Part-time faculty employed for either the regular fall or regular spring semester shall attend at least one department meeting per semester as part of their semester assignment. If department meetings are always held at times that conflict with the faculty member’s other employment, department chairs or the appropriate academic administrator may excuse the faculty member from this requirement. Part-time faculty have the right to attend department meetings. Part-time faculty shall be notified by department chairs of department meetings concurrently with full-time faculty.
Department Meetings. Upon agreement regarding an agenda which has been reviewed by the Director of Human Resources, or his/her designee, the Department Head, or his/her designee, and SEIU Local 521 representative staff. The Department Head, or his/her designees, and designated department SEIU Local 521 representative may meet a minimum of two (2) times per year to discuss issues of mutual concern. If agreeable to both the Department Head and SEIU Local 521, meetings may be more frequent. Meetings shall be held during the department’s normal business hours. A xxxxxxx and/or Union representative attending such a meeting during other than his/her normal assigned shift hours shall be paid straight time pay not to exceed two hours.
Department Meetings. Upon agreement regarding an agenda, a department head and his/her designees and designated department Union stewards may meet as needed to discuss issues of mutual concern. Meetings shall be held during the department's normal business hours. The parties to the meetings shall have no authority to change the wages, hours, terms and conditions of this agreement.
Department Meetings. Departmental meetings (that are less than department-wide meetings) shall be compensated at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) of the employee’s basic rate of pay.
Department Meetings. The Board and IPEA encourage department chairs and administrators to conduct department meetings within the work day as defined in Article 4.01 and acknowledge that there may be times when department meetings may extend beyond the work day. The parties agree that no department meeting will extend beyond 3:30 p.m. The parties affirm that a teacher’s work week consists of thirty-eight (38) hours. Any teacher who attends a department meeting that runs prior to or beyond the end of the work day will be given flex time equal to the amount of time the meeting lasted outside the work day. The department chair shall keep track of any department meeting that runs beyond the work day, the teachers in attendance, and the flex time each teacher has earned. The flex time earned from attending the department meeting cannot be bundled or carried over from one school year to the next nor can it impact or interfere with the teacher’s assignment including supervision, student contact or other meetings within a student attendance day. Attendance at department meetings is a performance responsibility.
Department Meetings. The Employer will not mandatorily require an employee to attend more than six (6) department meetings per calendar year which are outside of the employee’s regularly scheduled hours. This limitation shall not apply to continuing education, training, or other education meetings which are offered to all bargaining unit employees or are required to maintain basic competency in the specialty, e.g., fetal monitoring, ACLS, Dysrhythmia.
Department Meetings. Adjunct faculty members shall be invited to attend at least one (1) faculty meeting a semester in the department in which they are assigned to teach. Those attending such meetings will receive thirty dollars ($30) per hour.
Department Meetings. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Co-operative may schedule four (4) store departmental meetings per year at which attendance is required (except for those on approved leave of absence) and the employees shall be paid for the time at the meeting at their regular rate of pay. Meetings will be limited to two (2) hours.
