Classroom Observations. 14.5.1 Classroom observations used for formal written evaluation of unit members who are classroom teachers will be recorded on the Lesson Observation Form [Addendum I]. Prior to a formal classroom observation, the unit member shall complete the pre-formal observation plan [Addendum H] and shall conference with the evaluator. Members in the position(s) of: TSA:District Academic Coach will all be formally observed conducting a classroom lesson.

Classroom Observations. 1. The only persons authorized to observe a professional staff member for the purpose of evaluation shall be the Superintendent, assistant principal, and the building principal of that particular staff member. These individuals may also observe classrooms for purposes other than to evaluate the teacher.

Classroom Observations. Unauthorized personnel shall not be allowed to interrupt or otherwise disturb an employee during the performance of his/her professional responsibilities. Observations of an employee’s class by persons other than school personnel shall be allowed only after consent has been granted by the site administrator and the employee has either consented or been informed at least forty-eight (48) hours in advance excluding weekends and holidays. Such observations shall be no longer than one hour in length. Upon request, a building administrator or designee may be present in the employee’s classroom during the entire observation period.

Classroom Observations. By mutual agreement of the evaluator and the evaluatee, a range of dates for the classroom observation will be agreed upon prior to the observation taking place. Observations may occur in each class taught and will be performed by the evaluator within the scheduled dates. After performing the classroom observation(s), the evaluator will complete standards 7-20 of the Part- Time Faculty Evaluation Rating Form using the Part-Time Faculty Evaluation Rubric by the scheduled date. The evaluator will discuss the observation ratings with the evaluatee. Whether or not a formal evaluation process is occurring, classroom observations by an appropriate administrator or District designee may occur at any time.

Classroom Observations. 8-4-1 Classroom observations shall be conducted by the building principal and other appropriate supervisors, as determined by the Superintendent. The Superintendent will develop the list of appropriate supervisors. The building principal will assign supervisors as he/she determines. 8-4-2 Pre-observation conferences are not mandatory.
