Annual Leave and Annual Leave Loading. Employees other than casual employees shall be entitled to 4 weeks of annual leave for every year of continuous service. Annual leave accumulates on a pro-rata basis. Shift workers, as defined in the Workplace Relations Act, are entitled to accrue one additional week of annual leave each year. A shift worker is an employee who: • Is employed on shifts that are continually rostered 24 hours a day for seven days a week; and • Is regularly rostered to work those shifts; and • Regularly works Sundays and public holidays. Annual leave loading of 17.5% shall be paid to employees when annual leave is taken. Employees may request to cash out up to 2 weeks of annual leave per year thereby forfeiting the right to take that amount in leave. The request to cash out annual leave must be made in writing. The Company may consider the request and has absolute discretion.
